Data Protection Policy
Burghfield & Mortimer Photo Club complies with the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) May 2018. Under the Act, the Club is a data controller on behalf of its members. The Club collects and holds personal information about members. This includes name, telephone number, email address,membership duration, results obtained in competitions, records of work shown in internal and external competitions.
The Club has permission to use members’ images on the web site – by entering one of the Club’s competitions or exhibitions, the member gives permission to the Club to use any image(s) entered to support the Club in its normal activities. This can take various forms, including but not limited to:-
• Publication in any area of the Club website.
• Publication of other media to promote the Club.
• Selection for representation of the Club in external inter-club competitions.
If a member does not wish for their image(s) to be used in this manner, please inform the Club Secretary. Copyright of all images submitted remains with the member. Images will not be used commercially. The Club will endeavour to credit image(s) where possible, but the member accepts that this may not always be possible.
At the beginning of each season members will be asked to confirm / change their details. Any member wishing, during the season, to verify their personal information held by the Club can do so via the Club Secretary.
Personal information will be kept for 6 months, for any member not rejoining the club, but after that time their information will be deleted from all club records.
